History of the office workplace.
The first beginnings of office work can be considered the classic office clerk who had to do his work in an (often) dark room and poorly ventilated space.
Later this was extended to a better workplace.
Thus emerged spaces that were very clean and simply furnished.
No frills, a simple layout of the space.
Sturdy wooden furniture.
Later, desks were made of steel (1950s and 1960s).
In the 1970s the layouts became more playful and more color came into the interior.
A trend then was the creation of office gardens: large open spaces, plants and color brightened things up.
The open-plan offices were eventually followed by workplaces where people could work more individually: their own computer, their own telephone, etc..
The atmosphere remained businesslike (who does not remember the gray/red anthracite office interior of the early 1990s).
The hard colors were initially replaced by wood prints and more open layouts.
The future of your office design: The most recent developments can go in many directions.
As in home furnishings, there is not 1 style that is widely implemented, but several trends can be recognized.
